Getting to Pension Paradise - friendly, reasonably priced holiday accommodation in Pelekas, Corfu. For general information on travelling to Corfu, check out this guide, which also has information on finding Pelekas by car. You can also get to Pelekas by taxi (or during the day, by using the excellent local bus service). Whether you arrive on the island by plane or boat, there will be a taxi rank nearby. If you are tired or in a hurry, you may prefer to take a taxi direct: ask for Pelekas Village (as opposed to the Hotel or Beach) and check the price before you start (should be between 20 and 25 Euro, taxis from the airport are always more expensive). However, if you arrive between 7.30am and 8pm, the cheaper and more interesting option is to ask a taxi driver to take you to the bus station on San Rocco (Sarokko) Square, which should cost between 4 and 8 Euros. Once there, purchase a 1 Euro ticket from the small kiosk beside the buses, and relax at one of the outside tables in the 'Porto Reale' cafe opposite while you wait for one of the regular departures (see timetable). The journey takes around 25 minutes - the bus winds through villages and lovely countryside, with views up to Pelekas on its impressive hill - and ends in the main village square. Either way, you'll wind up in the main square of Pelekas, with its cafes and attractive church. From here, continue (in the taxi or on foot) up the only road with its steep curves, until you come to another church. Take the left fork here, not the road that heads uphill, and continue down for about 250m. Pension Paradise is the last building on the left hand side of the road, just past the colourful 'Pink Panther' restaurant, and just before a road sign directing drivers to Kontogialos (Pelekas) Beach.
